WORLD DAY FOR SAFETY AND HEALTH AT WORK

World Day for Safety and Health at Work: A Commitment to Our Workers' Well-being facing Climate Change

Today, April 28th, we celebrate World Day for Safety and Health at Work, a day dedicated to reflecting on the importance of providing safe and healthy work environments for all employees. One of the key challenges we face today is the impact of climate change on occupational health and safety—an issue that has become increasingly relevant in recent years.

The Impact of Climate Change on Workers

Climate change brings new risks for workers, who are often the first to face its effects, including extreme temperatures, UV radiation, and air pollution. These factors can lead to serious health problems such as respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as mental health issues. To address these risks, it’s essential to integrate workplace safety with climate policies and update regulations, encouraging collaboration between governments, businesses, and society.

Hidroten’s Actions to Ensure Workplace Safety and Well-being

At Hidroten, we’re committed to continuously improving the safety and quality of life for our workers, especially in light of the new risks climate change presents. Aware of our responsibility, we’ve implemented several initiatives to ensure a safer and more sustainable work environment:

• Thermal adaptation of our production facilities: We’ve invested €40,000 in a thermal adaptation process that improves the energy efficiency of our facilities, reducing energy consumption and creating more comfortable working conditions for our employees.
• Elimination of toxic chemicals: We’ve removed all toxic chemicals from our production processes, replacing them with biodegradable products that are safer for both the environment and the health of our employees.
• Installation of filters on machines: To promote a healthier and safer work environment, we’ve installed filters on various machines in our facilities, ensuring zero emissions and reducing air pollution.

Looking Ahead: Continuing to Work Towards a Safer Work Environment

These are just a few of the steps we’re taking to mitigate the risks of climate change and improve the safety and health of our workers. At Hidroten, we’re committed to implementing ongoing measures that support sustainability and workplace well-being, and we’ll continue to share updates on the progress of our initiatives.

On this World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we reaffirm our commitment to creating a safer, healthier, and more sustainable work environment for everyone. Together, we can build a safer future at work in the face of climate change.
